Hi, I’m Gemma - founder of Gemma Robinson Weddings, Wedding Coordinator, professional problem-solver, timeline enthusiast, and the person most likely to appear with an emergency sewing kit, safety pins, tissues, a phone charger and a backup plan before anyone even realises there’s a problem.

My love for weddings started long before I ever worked in the industry. At 18, I took one of those “what career should you have?” quizzes and it told me I should be a wedding planner. It sounds silly now, but something about it stuck with me. Not long after, I sold my car, went part time at work and studied Event Planning & Wedding Management alongside photography and beauty qualifications - determined to build a career doing something I truly loved.

Like many people starting out in the industry, getting my foot in the door wasn’t easy. I spent years applying for event roles and hearing the same thing over and over: “You need experience.” During that time, I worked a variety of jobs, planned my own wedding, moved from Surrey to West Sussex, bought a house with my husband Adam, and quietly held onto the hope that one day I’d make weddings my full time career.

In 2019, I finally got my chance.

What started as a trial shift at a venue in West Sussex called The Ravenswood, quickly became the career I had dreamed about for years. Within months, I knew I had found exactly where I was meant to be. I absolutely thrived in the world of weddings - supporting couples through one of the most important days of their lives, building genuine relationships, and making sure every detail came together seamlessly.

Then Covid hit.

Instead of running weddings, I suddenly found myself helping postpone hundreds of them, speaking to devastated couples navigating uncertainty no one could have prepared for. It was one of the hardest periods the wedding industry has ever faced, but it also taught me so much about empathy, adaptability, communication and staying calm under pressure.

When weddings finally returned, I threw myself back into doing what I loved most - coordinating unforgettable days for wonderful couples. Over the years, I coordinated and managed weddings across two stunning venues, eventually becoming the Senior Wedding Coordinator at Highley Manor, also in West Sussex, managing a team of coordinators while continuing to run weddings myself.

I’ve coordinated intimate ceremonies, huge celebrations, outdoor weddings in questionable British weather, Covid weddings, last minute changes, emotional mornings, complicated family dynamics and everything in between. I’ve steamed dresses, fixed buttonholes, calmed nervous bridesmaids, sourced missing items, solved unexpected problems quietly behind the scenes and yes - occasionally dealt with the odd uninvited guest too.

My approach to weddings is simple: organised, calm, supportive and personal.

I’m incredibly detail oriented and love a well structured timeline, but I also believe weddings should feel joyful, relaxed and true to you. I’ll make sure everything runs smoothly while still fully embracing the fun. Whether that’s fluffing dresses before the aisle walk, hyping you up before your entrance, or joining you in the photobooth with oversized sunglasses at the end of the night.

I’ll be honest, supportive and completely invested in making your day feel exactly how you want it to feel. No unnecessary pressure, just genuine support from someone who truly loves what they do.

In 2024, my husband and I relocated to Norfolk to start a new chapter in our lives, and after settling into our new home, Gemma Robinson Weddings was officially born in 2026.

Starting this business feels like the natural continuation of everything I’ve spent years building toward. Weddings are no longer just a career to me - they’re my passion, my safe place and something I genuinely feel privileged to be part of.

Outside of weddings, you’ll usually find me drinking coffee, listening to music (my playlist goes from cinematic orchestral music to heavy metal in seconds), collecting crystals, obsessing over cats, or crying over beautifully timed aisle entrances.
